Pump operators keep encountering the same
problem - how to place concrete into formwork that reaches down a
long way. Formwork walls that are five or six metres high are no
longer an exception any more. The standard four, resp. Only three
metre long end hoses of the truckmounted concrete pumps are,
however, no longer sufficient in these cases. But how should one
avoid the concrete bleeding when it falls freely in the formwork,
of the styropor expanded polystyrene lining of the formwork is
damaged? In the field this fact always led to the pump operator
extending the end hose with a further hose, but this is prohibited
due to safety reasons. Putzmeister knows how to solve this problem
- by coupling up a down pipe made of plastic.
Simple ideas are often practical and especially economic solutions.
Putzmeister recommends the use of a traditional plastic pipe that
is connected up to the tip of the boom of the truck-mounted
concrete pumps instead of the standard end hose. This is attached
with the aid of a reducer from 125 to 100 mm, and a standard
5,5" clamp coupling.
This is attached at the tip of the boom so that
the lightweight plastic pipe moves freely and can be swung in the
formwork in any direction. Work with the plastic pipe is
completely safe as no dangerous overpressure can build up: already
at 2 to 3 bar, the over-pressure is reduced by cracks in the
plastic wall so that there is no danger for the operating
personnel. The pipe may, therefore, only be used in formwork for
concreting: in no way does it replace the standard end hose.
The plastic pipe attachment can be supplied by Putzmeister sales
departments (part no. 265433.001) and the plastic pipes can be
bought in practically every building supplies shop - quite cheaply
in different lengths as sewage pipes.
